Each country has its own rules regarding the validity of a test result. Usually it happens that a test is valid for a maximum of 72 hours. This applies from the moment of test taking. Always check the requirements of the country of your destination yourself. Note: The number of hours that the test is valid is counted from the moment you took the test, so NOT from the moment you receive the test result. The result of your test is a snapshot. It indicates whether you have the coronavirus at the time of testing. So always adhere to the guidelines of the RIVM, even in the event of a negative test result.
Each destination has different rules and they are constantly being adjusted. We therefore always recommend checking the latest status via the Netherlands Worldwide website. Here you can easily see all requirements per country.
The rules regarding testing and the validity of the travel certificate are quite often adjusted by the destination country. It is therefore important that you keep a close eye on this yourself. If the rules have changed and you want to change/cancel your appointment, you can take these steps:
• Cancel your appointment with the link sent in the appointment confirmation. Did you book by phone and did not receive an email? Check your SPAM inbox or contact us by phone on 0850600495
• Book a new appointment with the test required at the destination country
Yes, all PCR tests for the coronavirus are RT-PCRs. RT stands for Reversed Transcription. Because a PCR requires double-stranded genetic material and the coronavirus is an RNA virus, the single-stranded RNA must first be converted into double-stranded material. This process is called Reversed Transcription. This is also stated on the certificate.
